BONES OF CROWS

PUBLICITY, COMMUNITY TOUR, FESTIVALS & EPK

We were pleased to partner with Ayasew Ooskana Pictures, Marie Clements Media, Screen Siren Pictures and Grana Productions on the feature film theatrical release and five-part mini series premiere of Bones of Crows. We announced start of production in 2021 and worked with the team throughout its production and entire run, we created the EPK, wrote the logline, synopsis and created materials for broadcasters and press.

Written, directed and produced by award-winning powerhouse Métis/Dene director Marie Clements, this epic story has made a profound impact on critics and viewers around the world. Prior to its highly-anticipated theatrical release on June 2, 2023, we supported the film on a free community screening tour in select locations and Indigenous communities across the country. We also supported the team throughout its international festival journey including it’s US premiere in Santa Barbara and festivals in Australia and New Zealand. The Bones of Crows five-part mini series premiered in the fall of 2023 on CBC and APTN and we had had the pleasure of continuing to support the team throughout this incredible journey on-air.

“Although it’s a difficult film to watch, the loving way in which it depicts Indigenous families and their traditions, including a simple family dinner, offers a perspective often missing from news stories. The historical span from the late 1800s to present day also gives the film heft; the flashbacks used to reflect how memories carry intergenerational trauma are a poignant device. It’s a gift to watch the largely Indigenous cast bring to life a story that many of them have a personal connection to.”

The film is written, directed, and produced by Marie Clements, produced by Trish Dolman and Christine Haebler, and executive produced by Sam Grana, Aaron Gilbert, Steven Thibault, Noah Segal, and associate produced by Leena Minifie and Kerriann Cardinal. Bones of Crows is being distributed by Elevation Pictures in Canada.

We have worked closely with Marie Clements on an ongoing basis and promoted the film during its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2022. It has received acclaim from audiences around the world at film festivals including VIFF, Cinéfest, CIFF, SBIFF and many more. The film screened in Berlin for the European Film Market as part of Perspectives Canada. It also screened at Mãoriland Film Festival in Ötaki, New Zealand and was the opening night film at the Birrarangga Film Festival in Melbourne, Australia in 2023.

Collaborating with Marie Clements, executive producer Trish Dolman, and community screening tour manager Jerome Turner, we have booked countless interviews in support of this monumental production. It’s been our pleasure to promote this important film and mini series that are both continuing to earn rave reviews.
