Pender PR was brought onto the I Am Joseph team for its Global Launch in 2019 and worked alongside the Four8 Production team to book interviews for Director Tomisin Adepeju and lead actor Michael Akinsulire (Killing Eve) .
I Am Joseph brought together a talented and diverse cast of emerging British actors in Akinsulire, Gabrielle Asmara and Dk Ugonna (Tales Retold, Take On Me) with stunning cinematography, which was a focal part of our campaign.
Four8 Productions
For this campaign the team at Pender PR worked alongside the UK team and an outsourced UK PR company to develop messaging, press releases and pitches and adapted them to specific international audiences. We used traditional media outreach strategies with a combination of niche influencer targeting to help spread the word about the film.
We were able to secure coverage in Africa, the US, Canada and booked Tomisin on radio shows that played to more than 130 countries around the world.
The Project
The debut short feature film from the UK’s Four8 Productions, tells a powerful and moving story about one mans internal struggle to come to terms with an unavoidable truth that will transform his life. Michael Akinsulire (Killing Eve) plays Joseph, a highly-regarded tradesman set to marry Mary portrayed by Asmara Gabrielle (Finding Fatima). When an unexpected twist arises, Joseph is forced to grapple with his trust in Mary, his faith, and the impact this revelation will have on their lives and the course of history.
