The Opportunity

Pender PR partnered with Canadian Screen Award-winning actor Harrison Houd during the process of creating the online interview web series, Stories of Kindness, focused on spreading kindness, connection, and storytelling through children. The series includes a collection of inspiring youth from across Canada who were selected to co-host the series alongside bullying prevention advocate and Pink Shirt Day Co-Founder, Travis Price. Interviewers were paired for these important conversations with celebrity guests including Sarah Levy, Dylan Playfair, Andrea Bang, the BC Lions’ Emmanuel Arceneaux, along with many more! 

We were brought onto the team to connect Harrison and Travis with press outlets throughout Canada. The goal of our outreach was to attract youth and families who have had a difficult time transitioning and adapting to isolation since the beginning of COVID-19. We were thrilled to join their team on this project and promote positivity and kindness through entertainment.

The Results

We coordinated interviews targeting hometown press, secured video, online coverage, radio and TV interviews for the Stories of Kindness team. Including live television interviews with Global News and CTV’s Your Morning. We also secured an article with the Vancouver Sun which highlighted an interview between writer, Shawn Conner and the producer/director Harrison Houde.
